We have two rooms which the children are free to go in when they wish:
Room 1 is the playroom which consists of six areas of development.
Room 2 is the Preschool room where the older children are after lunch. We also use this room for quiet time and story time.
The room is set out into workshop areas which follows the early years foundation stage.
These are Communication, Language, Literacy problem solving, Numeracy, Reasoning creative development and Personal, social & emotional development.
Activities include: Learning letters, Recognising and writing their name, Drawing, Listening to stories, Singing songs, Problem solving, Numeracy and reasoning which includes recognising numbers, Counting, Shapes and sorting, Creative development which includes sand, water, malleable play, Cutting, sticking and painting, Celebrating different festivals and discussing different cultures in society, Playing in the garden with trikes, bikes, scooters, Throwing, kicking and catching a ball, Climbing, running and playing on the equipment, Becoming independent: Feeding & dressing themselves and using the toilet, Sharing and making friends and helping themselves to activities.
Garden
The garden has a climbing frame, slide, trampoline, sea-saw and the space to run around freely.
Outdoor Classroom
This is where we provide the six areas of learning on a larger and different scale
We provide healthy snacks for our children throughout the day.
